Since 1919, RBI Corporation has grown alongside the industries we serve, evolving from a small battery and ignition business into a trusted distributor of outdoor power equipment parts. Founded as Richmond Battery & Ignition with just four employees, RBI began with a simple commitment to service that continues to shape our business today.

In 1946, RBI became a distributor for Briggs & Stratton’s emerging small engine division. As gasoline-powered equipment transformed the lawn and garden industry following World War II, RBI expanded its product offering to meet the growing needs of dealers and their customers. By 1978, we had dedicated our business entirely to the outdoor power equipment industry and moved into a 53,000-square-foot facility to support continued growth.

That growth continued with the addition of a second location in 1987, followed by our Albany, Georgia warehouse in 2007, adding 40,000 square feet of inventory capacity, and our Louisville, Kentucky warehouse in 2008, adding another 18,000 square feet. Together with our Virginia headquarters, these locations help us provide the fast, dependable distribution our customers have come to expect, including next-day service throughout our expanded Southeast territory.

Today, RBI combines decades of industry experience with modern systems, knowledgeable field support, and a strong network of independent dealers. Our team includes field service representatives, dedicated customer service support, and a warehouse operation designed to keep orders moving. Orders received by 5:00 p.m. EST through phone, fax, EDI, or online are shipped the same day.
